The story of our zone began in the mid-1990s with the goal of İzmir's apparel manufacturers to establish a shared production area. The first step, taken as a cooperative, has grown into a mixed organized industrial zone where more than a hundred companies produce today. Below you can find the milestones of this journey.

1996
Cooperative founded
A group of industrialists came together and, with the support of the Aegean Apparel Manufacturers Association, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality and Buca Municipality, founded the Aegean Apparel Manufacturers Land and Building Cooperative.

2002
OIZ legal entity
On 8 February 2002, legal entity status was obtained with the approval of the Ministry of Industry and Technology, and the zone was registered as Buca Ege Apparel Organized Industrial Zone.

2011
OSGB centre opened
The OSGB centre, where companies can obtain workplace physician and occupational safety services from a single point, opened in the Regional Directorate service building.

2015
Natural Gas Unit established
After the completion of the infrastructure works, the natural gas network was put into service and the Natural Gas Unit, operating 24/7, was established.

2016
Became a mixed OIZ
The application to allow sectors other than apparel to invest was approved; the zone continued its activities as a mixed organized industrial zone.

2017
First General Assembly
When the number of active participants reached the legal threshold, the first General Assembly convened and the Entrepreneur Board handed over its duties to the General Assembly.

2026
BEGOS - Buca Organized Industrial Zone
By decision of the Board of Directors, the official name of our zone was updated to "BEGOS - Buca Organized Industrial Zone".

2027
Year of Digital Breakthrough
2027 has been declared the Year of Digitalization for Buca Organized Industrial Zone. Software infrastructure, participant management systems and cybersecurity foundations are being reshaped within our zone.
